ROLE

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor in Birmingham, you'll be a vital part of a collaborative team, supporting project delivery from start to finish. You will:

Ensure robust cost control and accurate budget reporting
Assist in delivering client satisfaction across the full construction project life cycle
Work closely with experienced Quantity Surveyors, Employers’ Agents and regional project teams on high-value schemes
The position allows exposure to a variety of projects and provides the opportunity to build on your technical skills with mentoring and structured development.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Your key responsibilities as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor will include:

Assisting with cost planning, cost management, and feasibility studies
Supporting value engineering and procurement strategies
Preparing and evaluating tenders
Monitoring budgets and producing financial reports
Helping fulfil Employers’ Agent duties
Conducting valuations, progress reports, and contract administration

PERSON

To succeed as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you should demonstrate:

Experience delivering cost management services within a consultancy or contractor environment
Progressing toward or holding MRICS chartership
Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
A proactive, client-focused mindset with attention to detail
