Atkins Search are currently recruiting for a Senior Contracts Manager job in Nottingham to join an established, leading construction main contractor in the East Midlands. This senior-level role is a key part of the operational leadership team and is integral to the successful delivery of current and future projects across multiple sectors.

Client

Our client is a well-respected, financially robust main contractor with a strong presence in Nottingham and the East Midlands, boasting a proven track record of working collaboratively with trusted sub-contractors to deliver high-quality schemes on time and within budget.

Projects are varied and complex, including commercial, education, leisure, and healthcare construction projects, typically ranging from £1m to £15m in value. Following two years of consistent growth, the client is now looking to expand their Contracts Management team with an experienced construction professional.

Role

As Senior Contracts Manager, you will take ownership of multiple projects matched to your experience and sector background. This includes pre-construction involvement and end-to-end delivery, working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and to the required standards.

You will lead 2–3 new build or refurbishment schemes at any one time, depending on size and complexity.

This is a senior role with a total package exceeding £100,000 per annum, inclusive of salary and benefits.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Contracts Manager in Nottingham, your responsibilities will include:

Efficiently manage the execution of contracts under standard main contract conditions, maximising returns and promoting repeat business.
Collaborate with delivery and site teams to maintain project quality, safety, and progress.
Offer guidance and oversight throughout pre-construction and delivery phases.
Foster an inclusive team environment that champions diverse thinking and shared success.
Manage multiple construction projects simultaneously across Nottingham and the East Midlands.
Engage with the planning team, occasionally supporting project scheduling directly.

To be successful in this Senior Contracts Manager role in Nottingham, you will bring significant experience working within a main contracting construction environment, ideally for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor.

Demonstrated success managing multiple projects to time, cost, and quality.
Strong leadership style and team management capability.
Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to liaise effectively with subcontractors and senior stakeholders.
Experience in reporting progress to company Directors.
Skilled in interpreting and managing JCT contracts.
Commitment to safety, compliance, and risk management procedures.
Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
