Atkins Search is recruiting an experienced Senior Construction Planner to join a high-profile, UK-leading Tier 1 main contractor in Nottingham. This prestigious role encompasses both tender planning and live construction project delivery across the Midlands.

ROLE
As a Senior Construction Planner, you'll take strategic responsibility for planning functions across multiple high-value Midlands construction projects. Your expertise will span both pre-construction (tender) planning and live project planning, working closely with bid teams, project managers, and key stakeholders.
You'll develop comprehensive construction programmes for major education, healthcare, commercial and industrial developments throughout Nottingham and the wider Midlands region, with construction values of up to circa £80 million.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Tender Planning
Develop project preliminaries with detailed schedules and accurate pricing
Create construction method statements and responses for tenders and PQQs
Design logistics and traffic management plans showing practical site knowledge
Coordinate 4D animations and visualisations for planning proposals
Produce logic-linked programmes for design, procurement and construction phases
Project Management
Develop contract programmes ensuring compliance and efficiency
Work with JCT and NEC contracts, aligning planning with requirements
Create tender programmes integrated with methodology, budget and design
Update construction programmes, incorporating changes whilst minimising delays
Provide programme analysis supporting effective project delivery
Collaboration
Work with commercial teams on cost forecasting and resource planning
Present clear project updates to clients and stakeholders
Utilise project management software to track performance and mitigate risk

PERSON
The ideal Senior Construction Planner candidate will possess:
Proven construction planning experience across tender and live projects
Strong understanding of JCT and NEC construction contracts
Proven experience delivering multi-discipline construction projects (£20M-£100M)
Advanced Asta Powerproject proficiency for construction scheduling
Strong analytical skills interpreting complex construction programme data
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Strong organisational skills managing multiple construction projects
Meticulous attention to detail in construction programme development, with the ability to work across multiple construction projects simultaneously
