We are currently recruiting for a Design Technology Teacher to join a specialist SEMH school in West Drayton, supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and engaging teacher who can inspire pupils through practical, hands-on learning while helping them build confidence, resilience, and essential life skills. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is preferred, although experienced unqualified teachers with relevant SEMH experience will also be considered.
The Role:
Planning and delivering engaging Design Technology lessons to pupils with SEMH needs
Creating a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
Adapting lessons to meet individual learning needs and EHCP outcomes
Promoting positive behaviour and supporting pupils’ emotional wellbeing
Working collaboratively with the wider teaching, pastoral, and therapeutic teams
Monitoring pupil progress and contributing to reviews and reports
The Ideal Candidate:
QTS is preferred
Experience teaching Design Technology at secondary level
Experience working with pupils with SEMH, SEND, or additional needs is desirable
Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, resilient approach
Passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
