Building Inspector

A leading Structural Warranty provider is newly seeking a Building Inspector to service new build development sites in the North Leeds area (typical radius: Central Leeds, across to Bradford, up to Skipton, around to Harrogate, back towards Leeds centre via Wetherby).

The Role:

Undertaking Site Inspections (Building Control & Warranty) and providing technical building expertise relating to the risk management of construction. The position requires strong working knowledge of building regulations and the ability to assess both quality and the cause/effect of building defects.

Applicants from a variety of construction roles with transferrable will also be considered (such as Site Manager, Clerk of Works, Construction Manager, Building Surveyor, Building Inspector, Building Control Surveyor).

This is a remote based role (travel to site from home at 45p/mile fuel allowance), including market-leading training infrastructure, one-to-one support, future progression opportunities and a fantastic benefits package.

Typical Responsibilities:

· Inspecting homes being constructed, working closely with developers and builders to ensure as far as is reasonably possible works are in accordance with the Technical Manual and Building Regs

· Recording inspection details on the database and communicating comments to clients

· Ongoing liaison surveyors and management on technical matters to ensure that standards are being maintained and procedures adhered to

· Ongoing liaison with Developers / Clients / Builders, offering technical advice and guidance

Person Specification:

· Part or Full member of professional organisations: RICS / CIOB / CABE / ICWCI or Similar

· Relevant site inspection, building control or warranty surveying experience

· In depth technical knowledge of Building Regs and other relevant construction standards

· Ability to undertake site inspections to assess both quality and the cause/effect of building defects

· Ability to create not only good working relationships with other construction professionals but to be able to deal effectively with members of the public

· Full UK Driving Licence
