Working closely with the Home Manager, the Care Home Deputy Manager (Nursing) will play a key role in maintaining high standards of care, compliance and clinical governance within a modern nursing home environment.

The Role As Care Home Deputy Manager (Nursing), you will support the day-to-day management of the service while providing visible clinical leadership to nursing and care teams. Responsibilities include:
  • Supporting the Home Manager with the operational and clinical management of the home.
  • Leading, mentoring and developing nurses and care staff to deliver outstanding resident care.
  • Ensuring care plans are accurate, person-centred and regularly reviewed.
  • Overseeing medication management, audits, documentation and clinical compliance.
  • Conducting assessments, risk reviews and pre-admission evaluations.
  • Promoting a positive culture focused on dignity, choice, wellbeing and quality outcomes.
  • Building strong relationships with families, healthcare professionals and external agencies.
  • Taking responsibility for the service in the absence of the Home Manager and ensuring ongoing compliance with CQC standards.
Skills and Experience To be successful in this Care Home Deputy Manager (Nursing) role, you will have:
  • Current NMC registration and relevant nursing experience.
  • Previous experience as a Deputy Manager, Clinical Lead, Unit Manager or similar leadership role within elderly care or nursing home settings.
  • Strong knowledge of CQC regulations, clinical governance and safeguarding procedures.
  • Experience leading teams and driving high standards of care delivery.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships with residents, families and healthcare professionals.
  • A compassionate, resident-focused approach to leadership and care.
