Principal Parking Engineer

Our client, a reputable organisation, is currently seeking a Principal Parking Engineer to join their highways team. This contract role involves overseeing parking design and management, contributing to the Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) rollout programme, and leading a dedicated team of professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading and managing a team of approximately 4 staff members.
• Overseeing the development and implementation of parking schemes.
• Administering the rollout of the Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) programme.
• Delivering a range of minor parking schemes to improve traffic flow and parking accessibility.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant policies, standards, and regulations.
• Coordinating with stakeholders and the community to address parking-related issues.
• Preparing reports and providing updates to senior management.
• Hybrid working, with a mandatory presence in the Council on Mondays.

Job Requirements:

• Extensive experience in parking design and management.
• Proven ability to lead and manage a team.
• Experience with the implementation and administration of Controlled Parking Zones (CPZ).
• Strong understanding of highways and traffic management principles.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment, with at least two days per week in the Council.
• Commitment to customer service and community engagement.
• Relevant qualifications in civil engineering, traffic engineering, or a related discipline.

Contract Details:

• 3-month rolling contract, expected to last until at least the end of 2026.
• Hybrid working arrangement.
• Mandatory in-office presence on Mondays.
