Maternity Leave Teaching Assistant

Streatley Primary School is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team. This role may be particularly attractive to applicants who already have experience of, or working with, children in any setting and who may therefore have relevant skills and knowledge they wish to develop further. Applications are also welcome from graduates seeking to gain experience in an educational environment. The successful applicant must have an understanding of autism and an interest in supporting pupils with additional needs.

Under the guidance of teaching and support staff, the Teaching Assistant will play an important role in enabling pupils to access learning effectively. Key responsibilities will include promoting and supporting student access to the curriculum, supporting children in their learning, and working with class groups, individuals and small groups. The postholder will also deliver, monitor and track intervention programmes, ensuring that support is responsive to pupils’ needs and contributes to progress.

In addition, the role requires the ability to model and promote positive values, attitudes and behaviour across the school community. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a willingness to be fully involved in the life of the school and to contribute positively to its inclusive ethos. The post is based at Streatley Primary School, where collaboration, high expectations and a child-centred approach are central to daily practice.
