Are you a passionate and creative Art Teacher looking for a new opportunity from September 2026?
Milk Education are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and committed Art Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Darlington on a long-term supply basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher to become part of a supportive school community, delivering engaging Art lessons and helping students develop their creativity, confidence and artistic skills.
The Role
As an Art Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons across the secondary age range. You will encourage students to explore different artistic techniques, develop their own ideas and build confidence in their creative abilities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering engaging Art lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Teaching a range of artistic techniques, processes and mediums
- Supporting students to develop their creativity and artistic skills
- Preparing students for GCSE Art where appropriate
- Assessing and monitoring student progress
- Maintaining high standards of behaviour and achievement
- Creating an inclusive and inspiring learning environment
- Working collaboratively with the Art and wider school teams
- Contributing positively to the wider school community
About You
The successful candidate will be a qualified Art Teacher with experience teaching within a UK secondary school and a genuine passion for the subject.
You will ideally have:
- QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience teaching Art within a secondary school
- Strong knowledge of the Art and Design curriculum
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
- The ability to plan and deliver creative, engaging lessons
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A positive and enthusiastic approach to teaching
- A commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
