Consultant - Psychiatry of Old Age (RVH Liaison Team)

Locum Consultant in Psychiatry of Old Age required for the RVH Liaison Team within Belfast Health and Social Care Trust. This is a 10 PA per week position based at the Royal Victoria Hospital, working within the Mental Health and CAMHS directorate.

The successful candidate will provide psychiatric liaison cover for older adults across the RVH site, assessing and managing patients with complex mental health presentations in the general hospital setting. The role involves close collaboration with acute medical and surgical teams, providing expert opinion on delirium, dementia, depression, and other psychiatric conditions affecting older patients.

Candidates must have full GMC registration with a licence to practise and be on the Specialist Register for Psychiatry (or within 6 months of CCT). Section 12 approval and Approved Clinician status are essential. HSE Encompass training is strongly preferred by the Belfast Trust for this post. AccessNI clearance is mandatory.

Requirements include valid right to work in the UK, up-to-date DBS/AccessNI clearance, professional indemnity insurance, and a minimum of 2 professional references.
