About the role
Introduction
Candor Vets is delighted to be supporting a well-established practice in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, in their search for a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a friendly and supportive team within a practice that prides itself on excellent patient care and a collaborative working environment. The practice is located in Doncaster, offering excellent transport links to nearby cities such as Sheffield, Leeds, and York, providing a perfect balance of urban convenience and access to the countryside.
The Role
The successful candidate will join a team of 6 experienced vets, with both full-time and part-time applicants considered. The role involves a four-day working week for full-time vets, with approximately 1 in 6 Saturday mornings (8 am - 12:30 pm) and time off in lieu (TOIL). There are no out-of-hours or bank holiday shifts, as these are covered by VetsNow, who provide care for inpatients at the main hospital site overnight. The practice operates across two sites, including a recently refurbished branch. This position is ideal for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon capable of working independently in both medicine and surgery without the need for clinical support. The role can be tailored to individual strengths and interests, with opportunities to develop surgical skills using advanced equipment like laparoscopic and orthopaedic tools, or to focus on medicine with a wide range of diagnostic equipment such as Imagyst, ultrasound, dental radiography, endoscopy, and i-STAT.
What's on Offer
Salary up to £50,000, dependent on experience, with scope for a higher package based on additional certificates or experience.
40 hours over a 4-day week for full-time positions; part-time applications are welcomed.
Approximately 1 in 6 Saturday mornings (8 am - 12:30 pm) with TOIL.
Paid RCVS, VDS, and one other membership fee.
CPD encouraged and funded, with an allowance of £1750 for certificates and other training.
5 weeks annual leave, with no bank holidays to work, and the option to buy and sell additional holiday.
Enhanced sickness, maternity, paternity, parental leave, surrogacy, and adoption pay.
Health and wellbeing cash plan.
Cycle to work scheme.
Well-behaved pets are welcome to accompany you to work.
