Introduction

This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join a friendly, supportive team in beautiful Windermere, right in the heart of the Lake District. The successful candidate will enjoy an excellent work-life balance while living and working in one of the UK’s most stunning locations.

The Role

  • Either Full-time or Part-time hours available.

  • Shared out-of-hours rota, typically 1 in 6, supported by a dedicated nursing team.

  • The role involves a mixed caseload of medical and surgical cases.

  • The successful candidate will benefit from a supportive, collaborative team environment.

  • There is ample opportunity to develop clinical interests.

Whether you’re an experienced vet looking to broaden your general small animal experience or develop a specialism in a particular area, the practice can offer a varied caseload and the clinical freedom to thrive. Please note, this position would not be suitable for a new graduate.

About the Practice

The practice is an RCVS-accredited facility, committed to colleague wellbeing, high clinical standards, and fostering a positive workplace culture. It is well-equipped and supported by highly experienced certificate-holding vets, as well as skilled nursing, physiotherapy, and administrative teams. The main surgery in Windermere and a branch practice at Ambleside feature a fully-equipped operating theatre, dental x-ray, ultrasound, and an in-house laboratory. The Animal Rehabilitation Centre boasts a state-of-the-art underwater treadmill, K-laser, and also offers physiotherapy, massage, and acupuncture. In addition to first-opinion care for its own clients’ animals, the practice sees many visiting holiday makers’ pets each week and treats referral cases from other practices for surgery, rehabilitation, and dentistry. Internal communication is prioritised with daily morning rounds, a weekly in-house CPD meeting, an annual AGM, and numerous social events.
