Job Title
Temporary Works Supervisor (Mechanical / Scaffolding)
Summary
We’re looking for an experienced Temporary Works Supervisor (TWS) with strong knowledge of scaffolding (TG20, TG30, Layer) and bespoke temporary works designs. Based on site with our client, you’ll assist their Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) to ensure works are delivered safely and in full compliance with BS 5975 and project procedures. This role is ideal for someone with a solid background in scaffolding management, mechanical temporary works and UK construction safety standards.

Site-based – details to be confirmed with the successful applicant. Standard working hours apply.
Responsibilities
Coordinate closely with the Temporary Works Coordinator to maintain compliance with design and procedural standards.
Assist in verifying and checking Temporary Works activities against approved design documentation.
Confirm receipt and adequacy of design information before works commence, noting any residual risks.
Supervise erection, maintenance, use, and dismantling of Temporary Works.
Conduct inspections at key stages and maintain accurate site records.
Report deviations, unforeseen conditions, or modifications immediately to the TWC.
Carry out final pre-use inspections to confirm compliance prior to loading or utilisation.
Issue permits to load/unload only when works are confirmed safe and aligned with standards.
Must-have Requirements
Demonstrable competence in Temporary Works supervision (e.g., CITB TWS training).
Civil or Mechanical Engineering degree.
Scaffolding knowledge: TG20, TG30, Layer and bespoke scaffold designs.
Strong experience managing Temporary Works and scaffolding in compliance with BS 5975 and CDM Regulations.
CCNSG Safety Passport.
Nice-to-have Skills
Experience liaising with Tier 1 contractor teams.
Familiarity with temporary works permit systems.
Ability to contribute to audits and process improvements.
