We are recruiting Learning Support Assistants for a specialist provision in Hayes (West Drayton area), supporting students with a range of needs including SEMH, autism, developmental trauma, and sensory processing challenges.

About the Role

This setting supports young people who have struggled in mainstream education due to:

• Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
• Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
• Sensory processing difficulties
• Trauma and adverse childhood experiences
• Emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA)

Your role will focus on supporting students’ emotional regulation, sensory needs, and engagement with learning, helping them build confidence and independence in a structured, nurturing environment.

You’ll work in a small, supportive setting with a strong focus on:

• Sensory and emotional regulation
• Relationship building and trust
• Personalised learning and therapeutic approaches

What You’ll Be Doing

• Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups
• Helping students manage sensory overload, anxiety, and emotional dysregulation
• Building consistent, positive relationships with young people
• Supporting emotional regulation and confidence building
• Encouraging engagement in learning and daily routines
• Working closely with staff, therapists, and external professionals
• Promoting independence, resilience, and life skills

What We’re Looking For

We’d love to hear from you if you:

• Are a graduate in Psychology, Occupational Therapy, or a related field (or have relevant experience in care, youth work, or support roles)
• Have a genuine interest in educational psychology, occupational therapy, or SEN support
• Are patient, resilient, and emotionally intelligent
• Have strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Understand how sensory, emotional, and mental health needs impact behaviour and learning
• Have a reliable commute to Hayes / West Drayton – the school is well-connected via the Elizabeth Line, Piccadilly Line, and local bus routes

No school-based experience is required – your attitude, empathy, and willingness to learn are what matter most.

Full training and ongoing support will be provided.
