Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only
Location: Maidenhead, Berkshire (excellent transport links via Elizabeth Line, Great Western Railway, and local bus routes)

We are recruiting Learning Support Assistants for a specialist provision in Maidenhead, supporting students with a range of needs including SEMH, autism, developmental trauma, and sensory processing challenges.
About the Role
This setting supports young people who have struggled in mainstream education due to:
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- Sensory processing difficulties
- Trauma and adverse childhood experiences
- Emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA)
Your role will focus on supporting students’ emotional regulation, sensory needs, and engagement with learning, helping them build confidence and independence in a structured, nurturing environment.
You’ll work in a small, supportive setting with a strong focus on:
- Sensory and emotional regulation
- Relationship building and trust
- Personalised learning and therapeutic approaches

What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups
- Helping students manage sensory overload, anxiety, and emotional dysregulation
- Building consistent, positive relationships with young people
- Supporting emotional regulation and confidence building
- Encouraging engagement in learning and daily routines
- Working closely with staff, therapists, and external professionals
- Promoting independence, resilience, and life skills
What We’re Looking For
We’d love to hear from you if you:
- Are a graduate in Psychology, Occupational Therapy, or a related field (or have relevant experience in care, youth work, or support roles)
- Have a genuine interest in educational psychology, occupational therapy, or SEN support
- Are patient, resilient, and emotionally intelligent
- Have strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Understand how sensory, emotional, and mental health needs impact behaviour and learning
- Have a reliable commute to Maidenhead – the school is well-connected via the Elizabeth Line, Great Western Railway, and local bus routes
No school-based experience is required – your attitude, empathy, and willingness to learn are what matter most.
