Site Engineer

Freelance Site Engineer – Highways Scheme Location: Brighouse, West Yorkshire
Rate: £320 - £350 per day 
Duration: 6+ Months We are currently recruiting for an experienced Freelance Site Engineer to join a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering a major highways improvement scheme in Brighouse. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a significant infrastructure project, taking responsibility for setting out, quality assurance and supporting the successful delivery of the works. The Role Reporting to the Site Agent, you will play a key role in the day-to-day delivery of the project, ensuring works are completed safely, accurately and to programme. Key Responsibilities

• Setting out for highways, drainage, earthworks and associated civil engineering works.
• Carrying out site surveys using GPS and robotic total stations.
• Producing and maintaining accurate setting out records.
• Checking line, level and dimensional control throughout construction.
• Ensuring works are completed in accordance with drawings and specifications.
• Assisting with QA documentation, inspection records and as-built surveys.
• Liaising with the Site Manager, subcontractors and design team.
• Supporting health & safety standards across the project.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Site Engineer on highways or civil engineering projects.
• Strong setting out experience using Leica or Trimble equipment.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• CSCS Card (essential).
• SMSTS or SSSTS (desirable).
