Production operative

Our client, based in the Louth (LN11) area, is a leading European packaging company specialising in flexible and sustainable packaging solutions for some of the world’s most respected brands. They are currently recruiting for a Print Assistant to join their award-winning Print Department.

The Role

As a Print Assistant, you will support the Printer in the day-to-day operation of sophisticated printing machinery, helping to produce high-quality packaging for globally recognised brands. This is an excellent opportunity to develop a long-term career within the packaging industry while learning all aspects of the printing and pre-press processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting the Printer with setting up jobs on the printing machines
• Carrying out quality checks throughout the production process
• Changing reels safely and efficiently
• Supporting the smooth operation of the print department to ensure production targets are met
• Learning all aspects of the printing and pre-press processes
• Following company procedures to maintain high standards of quality, safety and housekeeping
• Working effectively as part of a team to achieve production and quality objectives

Candidate Specification:

• Previous experience within a warehouse, production or manufacturing environment is desirable
• Strong work ethic with the drive and passion to succeed
• Excellent attention to detail
• Organised, motivated and able to work calmly and methodically
• Keen to learn new skills and develop within the printing and packaging industry
• Good teamwork and communication skills
• Comfortable working 12-hour rotating shifts

Hours of Work:

• 12-hour shifts
• 4 on, 4 off rotating shift pattern
• 2 days (6:00am – 6:00pm), followed by 2 nights (6:00pm – 6:00am), then 4 days off

Pay Rate:

• £13.41 per hour
