CAD Draftsperson

Location: Birstall (On-site)

Contract Type: Temporary / Contract

Pay Rate: £21.06 - £42.65 per hour (Dependent on experience)

About the Role: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CAD Draftsperson to oversee the development and upkeep of our site's comprehensive drawings management system. In this role, you will ensure our manufacturing facility remains fully compliant with local legislative standards and industry best practices.

Working dynamically alongside Project Engineers, Reliability teams, and external stakeholders, you will produce and update vital CAD drawings across multiple engineering disciplines to keep our site running at peak efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce highly detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings.
  • Support the wider Engineering team with facility layout development and design revisions.
  • Conduct hands-on factory surveys to ensure all documentation reflects true "As-built" status.
  • Take full accountability for the site drawings register, acting as the primary custodian of our technical data.Collaborate with external partners to manage site 3D model completeness, feedback, and design changes.Support design and construction reviews as required.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Proven Experience: Demonstrated track record working as a Draftsperson or CAD Designer within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong 2D and 3D CAD skills (AutoCAD or similar software).
  • Discipline Diversity: Ability to interpret engineering concepts and translate them into site masterplans, general arrangements, layouts, P&IDs, piping schematics, and MEP systems.
  • Site Surveying: Comfort conducting physical factory surveys to verify drawing accuracy.
  • Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently to meet tight deadlines, and excellent stakeholder management skills.
