Gritting Operative

We are currently seeking a dedicated and proactive Gritting Operative to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring safe and efficient road conditions during icy and snowy weather by applying grit and salt to designated areas. Your primary duties will include operating gritting vehicles and equipment, monitoring weather conditions, and executing gritting schedules to maintain public safety. You will also be required to conduct routine checks on gritting machinery to ensure they are in optimal working condition. The ideal candidate will possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, as well as previous experience in a similar role or environment. Familiarity with road safety regulations and procedures is essential, along with the ability to work in varying weather conditions, including nights and weekends as required.
