The Opportunity: Make a Real Difference

Are you a dedicated and compassionate individual looking to remove barriers to learning for our youngest pupils? We are seeking an EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team across mainstream schools in Liverpool this September. This is a rewarding role where you will work closely with Nursery and Reception students who have diverse needs-including Autism (ASD), speech and language difficulties, and complex learning requirements-ensuring every child feels safe, included, and empowered to grow from their very first steps in education.

Key Responsibilities

You will play a pivotal role in both early years classroom management and individual pupil development:

  • Individualised Support: Provide one-on-one and small group support, tailoring your approach to meet the specific early learning and sensory needs of the child/children.

  • Learning Facilitation: Assist the lead teacher in implementing EYFS lesson plans and play-based educational activities, utilising specialised strategies to enhance the learning experience.

  • Inclusion & Wellbeing: Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that promotes self-esteem, independence, and vital social interaction among early years pupils.

  • Behaviour Management: Promote positive behaviour using established early years techniques and school policies, dealing promptly with emotional regulation needs while encouraging pupil responsibility.

  • Progress Tracking: Collaborate with the SENDco and teaching staff to monitor, record, and report on pupil achievement, milestones, and progress within the EYFS framework.

  • Care & Safety: Ensure the safety of all pupils, providing crucial assistance with personal care, hygiene, or mobility where required in an early years setting.

Requirements & Experience

We are looking for a patient and caring individual who possesses:

  • Experience: A minimum of 6 months of experience working in UK schools, nurseries, or a caregiving capacity (Special Education/Autism or Early Years experience highly preferred).

  • Compliance: An Enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to apply for one) and eligibility to work in the UK.

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written skills to effectively interact with young pupils, staff, and parents/carers.

  • Attitude: A genuine passion for supporting children with complex needs in their early development and a commitment to long-term, full-time work.

  • References: Professional references from recent employers.

Why Join Our Team?

We value our staff as much as our pupils. Joining our "Team of Talented Teaching Assistants" comes with a range of benefits:

  • Competitive Pay: Daily rates between £95 and £115, paid weekly.

  • Supportive Environment: Access to a dedicated professional consultant and friendly school leadership teams across Liverpool.
