About the role
Position: Full-Time or Part-Time, Flexible (Term Time Only)
Salary: £140 - £233 per day (Weekly Pay - dependent on experience)
Start Date: Immediate / Next Term
Are you a linguist with the passion to open doors to new cultures? Join our secondary network as an MFL Teacher and inspire students to master a new language while developing a global perspective.
Communicate Without Borders: Impact Without the AdminWe are seeking Qualified MFL Teachers (QTS/ECTs)-specialising in Spanish, French, or German-to provide expert cover across a variety of secondary schools. This role allows you to focus on the "conversation" of teaching-delivering high-energy lessons and fostering linguistic flair-without the burden of departmental data meetings or weekend marking.
- Linguistic Versatility: Lead lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, covering everything from foundational vocabulary and grammar to sophisticated GCSE film and literature studies.
- Professional Freedom: Experience different school language departments and pedagogical styles, keeping your teaching practice fresh while building a diverse professional network.
- Work-Life Balance: Reclaim your evenings! Deliver high-impact, interactive lessons during the day and leave the planning and parent consultations to the permanent staff.
- Weekly Pay: Competitive daily rates of £140 - £233, paid every Friday via Randstad.
As a Secondary MFL Teacher, you are responsible for building student confidence and breaking down the barriers to effective communication in a foreign tongue.
- Expert Lesson Delivery: Facilitate engaging lessons that balance the four key skills-Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing-using authentic resources to bring the language to life.
- GCSE Focus: Support examination cohorts with targeted preparation, focusing on translation skills, verb tense mastery, and spontaneous speaking confidence.
- Classroom Authority: Maintain a vibrant and supportive environment where students feel safe to take risks with their pronunciation and engage in role-play.
- Adaptive Support: Differentiate resources on the fly to support students with SEND or those who are dual-linguists, ensuring the curriculum is both accessible and challenging.
We are looking for articulate and passionate specialists who can bring a taste of the world into the classroom. You are an ideal fit if you:
- Hold QTS: You have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognized teaching qualification (ECTs are highly encouraged to apply).
- Are an MFL Specialist: You are fluent in at least one major European language (Spanish, French, or German) and have a solid grasp of the KS3/KS4 National Curriculum.
- Are an Engaging Communicator: You can build rapport with teenagers quickly and use your passion for languages to spark their curiosity about different cultures.
- Are Committed: You hold an enhanced DBS on the update service (or are willing to apply) and are 100% dedicated to Safeguarding.
Ready to inspire the next generation of global communicators while enjoying a career that works for you?
