Secondary Geography Teacher | Subject Specialist | Local Secondary Schools

Position: Full-Time or Part-Time, Flexible (Term Time Only)

Salary: £140 - £233 per day (Weekly Pay - dependent on experience)

Start Date: Immediate / Next Term

Are you an explorer at heart with the ability to explain the complex systems that shape our planet? Join our secondary network as a Geography Teacher and inspire students to engage with the biggest challenges of the 21st century, from climate change to urbanisation.

Map Out Your Career: Impact Without the Admin

We are seeking Qualified Geography Teachers (QTS/ECTs) to provide specialist cover across a variety of secondary settings. This role allows you to focus on the "fieldwork" of teaching-delivering high-energy lessons and fostering global citizenship-without the burden of departmental data tracking or weekend marking.

  • Broad Curriculum Mastery: Lead lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, covering everything from plate tectonics and weather hazards to population dynamics and global development.
  • Professional Freedom: Experience different school cultures and pedagogical styles, keeping your teaching practice fresh while building a diverse professional network.
  • Work-Life Balance: Reclaim your evenings! Deliver high-impact, enquiry-based lessons during the day and leave the planning and parent evenings to the permanent staff.
  • Weekly Pay: Competitive daily rates of £140 - £233, paid every Friday via Randstad.
Your Role as a Geography Lead

As a Secondary Geography Teacher, you are responsible for developing students' geographical skills and their ability to interpret the world through a spatial lens.

  • Expert Lesson Delivery: Facilitate engaging analysis of contemporary case studies, encouraging students to think critically about sustainability, interdependence, and environmental impact.
  • GCSE & A-Level Focus: Support examination cohorts with targeted preparation, focusing on map skills, data interpretation, and high-level evaluation in 9-mark questions.
  • Classroom Authority: Maintain a vibrant and respectful environment where students feel confident to debate global issues and share their own perspectives on local and global change.
  • Adaptive Support: Differentiate resources on the fly to support students with SEND or EAL, ensuring that complex geographical processes are accessible to all learners.
Essential Requirements

We are looking for articulate and passionate specialists who can bring the outside world into the classroom. You are an ideal fit if you:

  • Hold QTS: You have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognized teaching qualification (ECTs are highly encouraged to apply).
  • Are a Geography Specialist: You have a degree in Geography or a related Environmental Science, with a solid grasp of the KS3/KS4 National Curriculum.
  • Are an Engaging Communicator: You can build rapport with teenagers quickly and use your passion for the subject to spark their curiosity about the world.
  • Are Committed: You hold an enhanced DBS on the update service (or are willing to apply) and are 100% dedicated to Safeguarding.
